Tholen - Last week, rumours existed that the Chilean grape harvest would be 7% larger than last year. But according to Dutch importers, this 7% is an unreal figure. Importers told us that in fact the Chilean grape harvest is smaller than last year. "Some growers have 20 to 30% less grapes. The worldwide demand for grapes is huge which will cause the market to improve the coming weeks", says an importer. Also the bad weather in South Africa adds to this, as that ended the harvest of Thomson Seedless there. |
